Douglas K. Jenkins, Esq.

Mr. Jenkins is a seasoned trial attorney with over thirty (30) years of litigation experience.  Mr. Jenkins has tried major jury, non-jury, and arbitration cases in the state and federal courts of Pennsylvania and has argued before the Superior Court of Pennsylvania and the Commonwealth Court of Pennsylvania.  Mr. Jenkins also has substantial experience litigating commercial transactions.  He concentrates his practice on complex civil litigation matters, including catastrophic injury cases, general liability cases, medical malpractice, employment discrimination, and commercial transactions.    

Mr. Jenkins is an experienced labor attorney and has litigated union matters before the American Arbitration Association and unfair labor practices issues before the Pennsylvania Labor Relations Board.  Mr. Jenkins has also tried commercial litigation cases to verdict, including a Uniform Commercial Code case which created new law in the area.  Mr. Jenkins has represented colleges and universities, hospitals, school districts, automobile manufacturers, and municipalities in state and federal litigation.

Mr. Jenkins serves as general counsel to a local Philadelphia nonprofit agency with an annual $50 million dollar budget.

Mr. Jenkins has been a guest speaker at Continuing Legal Education classes and presented seminars on labor and complex civil litigation issues.   Mr. Jenkins was also a guest speaker at The Legal Intelligencer Roundtable Discussion involving the unique issues encountered by boutique law firms.

Prior to starting his own firm, Mr. Jenkins worked for several notable law firms in the Philadelphia area where he defended local hospitals, universities, and automobile manufacturers in federal, state, and appellate courts.  During this time, Mr. Jenkins tried major jury, non-jury trials, and arbitration cases and handled alternative dispute resolution hearings and underinsured and uninsured motorist actions.  

Before his professional career in the private sector, Mr. Jenkins was counsel with a local utility where he drafted contracts and defended general liability cases, and represented it in bankruptcy actions filed in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania with an emphasis on automatic stay and preferential treatment issues.  Mr. Jenkins also litigated before the Public Utility Commission and the Philadelphia Gas Commission.

Mr. Jenkins was an Assistant City Solicitor where he reviewed Office of Housing and Community Development contracts, and oversaw the procurement process to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local law.  Mr. Jenkins obtained both his Bachelor’s Degree and his Juris Doctorate from Temple University.  He is currently a resident of Swedesboro, NJ.  However, he was born and raised in the Mount Airy section of Philadelphia.  He is also a member of the Omega Psi Phi fraternity.
